Did you know that break up and the memory of ex activates specific
brain cells that are associated with physical pain. This is the conclusion of
several months’ research made in USA where separated people were examined and
studied for six months.
The
participant’s brains were studied via magnetic tomography while they were viewing
the photographs of ex partner and telling the stories from life together. In
order to complete the experiment, researcher caused also a real pain to
participants.
The findings were impressive. As it was revealed after the analysis
of geophysical data, memories of ex activate the same brain cells as those of
pain. In other words, the memory of separation creates real pain. The
explanation for this phenomenon may lie within evolutionary theory.
Partitioning in previous evolutionary stages meant the
–removal- (usually death) of one lover. Such -removal – was accompanied by physical pain and often led
to the death due to lack of food and protection against natural phenomena.
